This was a group project written as a manadory part of training for the AGQ CDT. I wrote the last section, defining chiral algebras in the sense of Beilinson and Drinfeld along with as much background as I could reasonably fit. It further covers the realtionship to factorisation algebras, and ends with touching on the quintiessential example - the Belinson-Drinfeld Grassmanian. I believe it is a somewhat accessible introduction to the topic. Please notify me of any errors!
